Chapter 1 & 2 Questions

Chapter 1

1) How do you know what strategies will work to convince your audience? Do you appeal more to emotions, logic, or something entirely different?

2) Hybrid Texts- Why are they effective? How does combinging images and words work as a strategy of appeal? Do images convey more information than text?

3) Visual arguments: different viewers make different interpretations, I always thought that people liked books more than movies because they visualized and use their imaginations in books. Doesn't showing an image take the imagination part out of it?


Chapter 2

1) Why are cause and effect arguments such effective methods of advertisement? How do they appeal to logic?

2)Do you think that pathos as a tool of persuasion works better or worse for separate genders?

3)Why do you think it is that humans affix qualities to a logo? Why do we become trusting so much so that we stop quesitoning certain values or beliefs?
